Earlier, the BCB named a 15-member squad of Bangladesh women cricket team for the SA Games.
The Himalayan Times adds: Off late, the game of cricket witnessed quite a few incredible performances from the players across the world. In the latest, Anjali Chand of Nepal registered yet another extraordinary feat by picking six wickets giving away no run. The incident took place against the Maldives in the South Asian Games on yesterday (Monday).
The incredible effort from Anjali Chand witnessed Maldives being folded out for just 16 runs on the board. She struck thrice in her first over before picking up a couple of wickets in her second over. Finally, she ended the innings in his third over to bundle out the opponents for 16.
The scintillating show in the middle helped Anjali Chand to become the latest owner of the record for best bowling figures in T20I cricket. Mas Elysa of Maldives had previously held the record with figures of 6 for three registered against China women earlier this year.
In reply to the chase, Nepal took just five deliveries in the first over to chase down the tally. The win helped Nepal to start the tournament in a dominating fashion. The run rate would help them going further in the competition. Nepal is competing with Maldives, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka in the 4-team tournament in Pokhara.
The top 2 teams at the end of a round-robin stage will progress to the gold medal match while the bottom two will play the bronze medal match. As far as the men’s cricket is concerned, it was Deepak Chahar of India, who registered the best bowling figures in T20I cricket during the recent series against Bangladesh. Chahar picked up six wickets for four runs against Bangladesh to surpass the record set by Sri Lanka’s Ajanta Mendis. The Sri Lankan bowler picked six wickets for just eight runs in his 4-over spell.
