‘Rangpur to become strongest base of AL’

The newly elected leaders of Rangpur district and city unit executive committees of Awami League (AL) have announced to turn Rangpur into one of the strongest and permanent bases of the party.

The new presidents and general secretaries of the district and city units of AL made the announcement after placing wreaths at the mural of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on Bangabandhu Square here on Wednesday afternoon. Earlier, thousands of leaders and workers of the district and city units of AL and its associate bodies brought out a huge ‘Ananda Rally’ on the streets before placing wreaths at the mural of Bangabandhu and observing a one minute silence there.

Later, Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi, MP, addressed at a mammoth gathering held there congratulating the newly elected AL leaders amid huge applause of thousands of leaders and workers of the district and city units of AL and its associate bodies. On the occasion, new President of district AL Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed, its General Secretary Advocate Rezaul Karim Raju, President of city AL Shafiur Rahman Shafi and its General Secretary Tushar Kanti Mandal firmly committed to further strengthening AL in Rangpur.

They urged leaders and workers of AL and its associate bodies to forget all differences and work unitedly in reaching the vision of development of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to common people and vowed to build Rangpur as a permanent stronghold of AL.

Moderated by Office Secretary of district AL Touhidur Rahman Tutul, the newly elected AL leaders advised all leaders and workers of the party to remain united and alert to resist conspiracies being hatched by the anti-liberation and evil forces.

They said there is no alternative to AL President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her able son Sajeeb Wazed Joy for further accelerating the pace of development of Rangpur.

General Secretary of district AL Advocate Rezaul Karim Raju said the symbol of ‘Boat’ will win all six parliamentary seats in Rangpur in the future.

“The people from all walks in life of Rangpur are ready to gift victory to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in all six parliamentary constancies of Rangpur,” Raju added.

Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi called upon common people to become united under the umbrella of AL to build Rangpur as a model of development as Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her son Sajeeb Wazed Joy are working to build a developed Bangladesh.
