Arts and Social Sciences unit admission test of 7 DU-affiliated colleges today

Seven affiliated colleges of Dhaka University (DU) will hold the admission test (Arts and Social Sciences unit) for honours courses for 2019-20 session today. The examination will be held from 10am to 11am, said a DU press release here yesterday. Dhaka University (DU) Vice-chancellor Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman will inspect the centres where the examination will take place. The centres are: Dhaka College, Eden Girls’ College, Begum Badrunnesa Government Girls’ College, Government Shaheed Suhrawardy College, Kabi Nazrul Government College, Mirpur Government Bangla College and Government Titumir College. A total of 20,150 admission seekers have applied against 11,630 seats under the Arts and Social science unit. RU’s 11th  convocation tomorrow

The 11th convocation of Rajshahi University (RU) will be held tomorrow. The persons who got their Post-graduation, MBBS, BDS, MPhil and PhD degrees between 2015 and 2016 from the university can take part in the convocation.  “Marking the convocation, necessary and adequate preparations are almost at the final stage. Security measures were strengthened. The overall security was also tightened on the campus”, said RU vice-chancellor Professor Dr M Abdus Sobhan at a press conference held on Senate Bhabon yesterday. Chancellor of RU and president M Abdul Hamid is likely to chair the convocation. Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni will attend the function as special guest while vice-chancellor of Vidyasagar University, India, Prof Ronjon Chakrabarti is scheduled to present in the event as convocation speaker.
