Members of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested five alleged drug traders, including a woman, with 10,000 pieces of contraband yaba tablets in two separate drives from the capital’s Uttarkhan and Jatrabari areas in the early hours of Wednesday. The arrestees are- Md Nurul Islam alias Dipu, 35, Mossammat Minu Begum, 38, Md Hosan alias Juhar, 35, Abdullah alias Taher, 24 and Sahadat Hossain Shaheen, 39.

On a tip off, members of the DMP Intelligence East Department’s Demra Zonal Team detained Dipu and Minu Begum from Gazipara under Uttarkhan Police Station at about 2:45 am and recovered 2,000 yaba tablets from their possession, said DMP Uttarkhan Police Station OC Md Helal Khan.
