Get ready to prevent abuse of technology

President Abdul Hamid yesterday asked the Armed Forces to take timely preparations to prevent the abuse of technology. "With the proliferation of information technology, challenges have increased along with the opportunities in the job market. The threat to national, social and personal security is now much greater. Cybercrime is now a casual matter,” he said. The President further said, “Every member of the Armed Forces has to be much more vigilant in carrying out duties. In addition to properly utilising all the facilities created by the information technology, the Armed Forces will have to take timely preparations to prevent the misuse of technology."

He made the directive while addressing a dinner party hosted by him for the Armed Forces members marking the Armed Forces Day. Hamid said the government is implementing the Forces Goal-2030 for the development of Army, Navy and Air Force. "Under this programme, various materials, including infrastructure and advanced machinery, have already been collected. The capacity and capabilities of our forces have increased manifold. The development trend of the Armed Forces will continue in the future."

Mentioning that the Armed Forces symbolise the pride of the nation, he said its members have been playing a commendable role in the nation's organisational activities, including supporting the civil administration in facing any natural calamity, alongside the great responsibility of protecting the independence and sovereignty of the country.
