A man was killed and 50 others injured in a clash between two group of villagers over land dispute at Shibrampur village in Mohammadpur upazila yesterday morning. The deceased was identified as Mukter Molla, 65, resident of the village.

Tarak Nath Biswas, officer-in-charge of Mohammadpur Police Station, said the two groups locked into an altercation over a long-standing land dispute in the morning.

At one stage, they started vandalism of houses and got embroiled in clashes, leaving Mukter dead on the spot and 50 others injured.
