President Abdul Hamid yesterday said city corporations belong to the common people and stressed taking decisions prioritising their interests, reports UNB. The President said this when Dhaka North City Corporation Mayor Annisul Huq made a courtesy call on him at Bangabhaban. During the meeting, the president said the common people will support any step of the city corporation if it is taken considering their people's interests. President’s Press Secretary Joynal Abedin briefed reporters after the meeting. The mayor apprised the president that the DNCC will build 72 waste containers in phases to remove city wastes faster. He also appraised the president of different steps taken by the DNCC for easing traffic jam in the capital. Secretaries concerned to the President Office were present.
