Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen yesterday handed over cheques of compensation to the family members of the victims who experienced a crane accident in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) in 2015. During the crane accident, a Bangladeshi national died on the spot while performing Hajj and two others were seriously injured.

Following the incident, the Saudi government gave Tk 2.26 crore for the deceased family while Tk 1.13 crore each for the two injured Bangladeshis.

Momen said, “Bangladesh enjoys a very good relation with Saudi Arabia. They have compensated our Bangladeshis following the accident in 2015.”
