In celebration of its 9th founding anniversary, cultural organisation Uttarayan is arranging a programme titled ‘Europe-e Rabindranath’ tomorrow at the Bangladesh National Museum at Shahbagh of the capital. The programme will feature song rendition and poetry recitation.
Promoting and preserving the songs and compositions of the Nobel Laureate Poet Rabindranath Tagore, Uttarayan has chalked out the event in a unique style, founder of Uttarayan singer Lily Islam has revealed the news. State Minister for Cultural Affairs KM Khalid is scheduled to attend the programme as the chief guest, while secretary of Ministry of Cultural Affairs Dr Md Abu Hena Mostafa Kamal will be present as special guest.
Lily Islam said, “At the programme tomorrow, we will try to present 20 songs and stories written by Rabindranath Tagore during his Europe tour. We hope the programme will be liked by everyone.”
Planned and directed by Lily Islam, the songs will be performed by the members of Uttarayan while Bhashwar Bandopadhyay and Dalia Ahmed will take part in the poetry recitation session.
The programme will remain open to all.
