As part of the ongoing 10-day theatre festival titled ‘Bangla Natya Utsab’, Dhaka Theatre will stage its much-acclaimed production ‘Putra’ this evening at the Experimental Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) in Segun Bagicha of the capital.
Directed by Shimul Yousuf, ‘Putra’ is one of the plays that renowned playwright Selim Al Deen finished just before his death in 2008.
The cast of the play includes Esha Yousuf, Milu Chowdhury, Asaduzzaman Aman, Samiun Jahan Dola, Sajjad Ahmed Rajib, Rafiqul Islam, Shahzada Samrat Chowdhury and others.
On the other hand, Theatre Art Unit is going to stage its play ‘Sutay Sutay Hanna and Shapla’ at the National Theatre Hall of BSA today. The play is directed by Rokeya Rafique Baby.
Moreover, theatre troupe BotTala will stage their play ‘Crutcher Colonel’, an adaptation of eminent novelist Shahaduzzaman’s novel with the same title, at Mahila Samiti while Bangla Natyadal will stage ‘Megh’ at Donia Studio Theatre Hall in Donia of the capital this evening, as part of the festival.
Celebrating the completion of Mahakal Natya Sampraday’s three-decade journey in the theatre world, the troupe has organised the festival featuring Bangla dramas from Bangladesh and three other Bangla-speaking states of neighbouring India.
All the plays will be staged at 7pm simultaneously.
