The first annual Bonsai exhibition by Md Solaiman, the founder of Bonsai Jagat, was held on the premises of Cadet College Club Limited (CCCL) in the capital’s Gulshan area. The three-day show, jointly organised by Bosai Jagat and CMUD Events, ended yesterday.
Earlier on September 3, Textiles and Jute Minister Golam Dastagir Gazi inaugurated the exhibition at CCCL. Among others, Narayanganj Police Super Mohammad Harun-ar-Rashid, Bangladesh Bonsai Society president Namza Shafiq, CCCL president Mohammad Alamgir and CMUD managing director Dr Jahidur Rahman Sumon attended the event.
Golam Dastagir Gazi said in his speech, “Bonsai is an art. I congratulate artist Solaiman for presenting this art to us. Commercial cultivation of Bonsai could be a profitable business in our country.”
“Our homes would look beautiful as well as an environment-friendly society can be built if we cultivate Bonsai at home”, the minister added.
Artist Solaiman said, “Bosai is my companion at leisure. I raise Bonsai like my own children. My heart fills with joy when I see a complete Bonsai.”
About 300 Bonsai plants were displayed in the exhibition.
