Bangabandhu Amateur Futsal kicks off Nov 19

Bangabandhu Amateur Football (Futsal) Cup organised by Soccer League BD will be held in the capital next month.

Soccer League BD, the franchise of Bangladesh, seeking approval from Soccer League UK, the biggest non-professional football organisation, will kick-off the tournament from November 19. Teams who are willing to take part in the tournament, have been asked to register their names by October 30. For the first three days, the qualifying round of this five-a-side tournament, will take place. Then the 16 teams will qualify for the final round which will be held on November 27 and 28.

The champions will receive Taka one lakh as prize money from the tournament to be held under the auspices of AEMS Sports and ATN Events. Any non-pro footballer can participate in the tournament.

Meer Motahar Hossain, adviser marketing to ATN chairman, Masudur Rahman, director ATN Events, Mohammed Kabir, Soccer League UL Managing director Mohammed Kabir and Mirza Faiaz Hossain, managing partner Soccer League UK & AEMS Sports stated all at a press conference held in the capital yesterday.

They further disclosed that the champion team will be sent to Bedfordshire, UK for two month advance training.

The organisers hope to organise the tournament all over the country in future.
