Awami League (AL) Advisory Council Member Tofail Ahmed yesterday said the country will be made corruption-free by the ongoing anti-graft operation.

“None will be spared during this drive against corruption. All wrongdoers will be punished by taking effective measures,” he said at a programme while speaking as chief guest. He was addressing a ceremony to provide financial assistance to the fire-victims of Velumia Bazar of Sadar upazila in the district.

Tofail said “We are not engaged in any wrongful activity and never indulge or support wrongdoing of anyone.”

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has launched the anti-graft drive to get rid of corruption, drugs and terrorism, he said, adding that as part of it, law enforces raided those casinos and arrested casino-operators from the capital.

He urged all concerned to work together with honesty for eradicating drugs and terrorism from village level. Highlighting the success made by the present government, he said the ruling AL government made massive development in both villages and cities which had not been done by any other government in the past.
