Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives (LGRD) Minister Md Tazul Islam yesterday urged all to work together to provide safely managed sanitation services in the country.

Addressing the non-government agencies, the minister said, “Please come forward to help the government to provide safely managed sanitation services across the world to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) target-6.”

He was speaking as the chief guest at an inauguration programme of ‘National Sanitation Month-October 2019’ organised by the ministry at the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) auditorium, said a press release. Secretary of the ministry Helaluddin Ahmed presided over the programme while State Minister Swapan Bhattacharjee, chief engineer of PHED M Saifur Rahman and Chief of Education at UNICEF Noor Shirin Md Mokhtar also spoke.
