A man was arrested allegedly for raping his own twin daughters in Gazipur on Friday night. The accused was identified as Jahangir Alam Kajol, 45, son of Hares Bainna of Mawna village under Sreepur upazila in Gazipur district.

Sub Inspector (SI) Minhaj Uddin of Sreepur police station said that the twin girls were sent to Gazipur Shahid Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College and Hospital for physical test yesterday.

Quoting the relatives of the victims, SI sub Minhaj said, Kajol married Amena Begum in 1995 and their twin daughters were born about 16 years ago.

But Kajol married two more women and sent Amena begum at her father’s home at Dhonoa village of the same upazila along with the twin daughters, said the police official.

He used to visit there and often raped his daughters and threatened them too, police said.

Suddenly victims’ mother, Amena Begum, noticed the incident and filed a case against Kajol over the incident on Friday night. Accordingly, police arrested the father.
