Foundation Day Lecture held at DU

The Peace and Conflict Studies Department of Dhaka University (DU) organized ‘Foundation Day Lecture-2019’ at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban marking the 20th founding anniversary of the department. Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof Md Akhtaruzzaman was the chief guest. He said that internal peace and security of Bangladesh have been disrupted by about 1.1 million Rohingya refugees. “UN would play a pragmatic role to resolve Rohingya crisis”. UN Resident Coordinator in Bangladesh Mia Seppo delivered the keynote paper of ‘Foundation Day Lecture-2019’, said a DU press release. DU Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Prof Muhammad Samad, DU Social Sciences Faculty Dean Prof Sadeka Halim, founding Chairman of the Department Prof Dalem Ch Barman incumbent chairperson Md Touhidul Islam with DU Treasurer Prof Md Kamal Uddin in the chair. In her speech the UN Resident Coordinator Ms Mia Seppo lauded the role of Bangladesh in upholding human rights and peace keeping.
KUET admission process begins

The admission test for the first-year honors’ courses of BSC Engineering, Bachelor of Urban Rural Planning (BURP) and Bachelor of Architecture (BARC) in Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) under 2019-20 academic session online application process begins from 10am yesterday. It will be continued until 11.59pm on September 17, 2019. Admission test will be held from 9.30am to 12.30pm on October 18. The KUET authorities have taken various initiatives including seat plans and tight security measures for holding the admission test peacefully, said Monoz Kumar Mozumder, Public Relation officer of KUET today. The final list of eligible admission seekers will be published on October 3. All necessary information on admission test will be available on KUET website www.kuet.ac.bd.
