Chief of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) Mohammad Shafiqul Islam, also Additional Inspector General of Police, was made Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) yesterday. The public security division of home ministry has issued a notification, signed by Dhananjoy Kumar Das, deputy secretary of the division, in this regard yesterday. He is replacing existing DMP commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia, who will go retirement on September 13 this year.

Meanwhile, Additional Inspector General of police (In-charge) of Police Headquarters Chowdhury Abduallah Al-Mamun has been appointed as news chief of the CID while Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Special Branch (SB) of Bangladesh Police Mahbub Hossain was made Additional Inspector General of Police (In-charge) of Police Headquarters.

On the other hand, DIG of SB Biswas Afzal Hossain has been transferred as Additional Inspector General of police (In-charge) of Police Headquarters, by issuing another notification by the public security division yesterday.
