Medium fast-bowling all-rounder Forhad Reza on Wednesday said that he is ready for international cricket whether it is white-ball or red-ball cricket. But he said that he has a special liking for Twenty20 cricket what he is performing well for the last few years, adding that he will attempt his utmost best to well perform for the team if he is given a chance to play for the national team yet again.
“I’m ready for playing cricket, for any format of games they chose me,” said Forhad Reza, whose electrifying fielding, finishing stint and handy medium fast-bowling performance in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) drew the attention of the selectors to select him for the pre-World Cup series in Ireland but he didn’t get chance to play any match.
“I’m obviously enjoying T20 Cricket because it goes on my style what I played for the last one year,” Reza told media after the last day practice session at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur yesterday.
“Then if you see the national cricket league (NCL) and BCL, you will see me as highest wicket-taker. Problem is there that I have performed everywhere. If any chance comes to me, I’ll try to play better cricket,” he added.
The 33-year-old all-rounder said that they can drop him if he can’t perform well but before giving no chance you can’t raise any question about failure.
“I was out of international cricket for so long. So, I’m lagging behind others. I’ve to play first. As I play cricket, I have to give chance to prove myself,” he said.
“Before giving no chance to me, how you can tell I will not be able to perform in international cricket,” he replied.
“Reza is always Reza. I’m always ready for taking the challenge,” he added.
When asked about his learning, the experienced Reza said that learning has no end but he informed that he is playing cricket for his mother and his beloved one.
