The 6th meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Public Assurances was held yesterday in the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban here.
The committee called for maintaining transparency and accountability in development works to fulfill the promises made to the people, said an official press release.
The committee scrutinised the updated details of overall progress of the sessions of the 10th Jatiya Sangsad.
It had an elaborate discussion on the promised projects of prime minister, foreign minister and expatriates’ welfare and overseas employment
minister.
The committee placed a recommendation to take necessary steps to help the marginal fishermen with proper management and conservation of collected fisheries.
Earlier, a prayer was offered for eternal peace of the departed souls of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his martyred family members of 15 August, 1975 and the Awami League leaders and workers who were killed in 21 August grenade attack.
