The title deciding 6th and last round matches of the Walton 17th National Cricket League (NCL) will resume without national players at four different venues across the country today.
Two new venues Cox’s Barzar and Khulna have been included for this round. The board shifted the venue of Shaheed Kamruzzaman Stadium from Rajshahi to Cox’s Bazar due to misbehaviour with the curator of Rajshahi Stadium.
Reigning champions Rangpur Division will take on Khulna Division at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong and Dhaka Division will face-off Dhaka Metro at Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium (SKICS) in Cox’s Bazar in Tier-1 matches.
In Tier-2, Rajshahi Division will lock horns with Sylhet Division at Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium (SANS) in Khulna and Chittagong Division will vie against Barisal Division at Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogra.
After the fifth round games, Khulna and Barisal took the pole position with 47 and 53 in the Tier-1 and Tier-2 respectively. Dhaka Metro and Dhaka Division closely followed each other with 41 and 40 in Tier-1, while Rajshahi Division and Sylhet Division also narrowly followed themselves with 37 and 35 in Tier-2.
Rangpur Division and Chittagong Division placed in the bottom of the Tier-1 and Tier-2 with 30 and 31 correspondingly.
In Tier-1, Khulna, Dhaka and Metro are in the race to clinch the crown. Rangpur is all but sure to demote to Tier-2, while Barisal will be promoted to Tier-1 in the next season.
