22 arrested for 
‘sale of fake question paper’

Detectives in their separate drives in different areas of the capital arrested 22 people in last 24 hours ending at 6pm yesterday on charges of selling 'fake question papers' for admission to Dhaka University (DU), report UNB. The written test for admission to first year honours courses under 'Ka' unit of the university for session 2015-2016 was held on Friday. Some applicants of ‘Ka’ unit admission test were among the arrested people.  Tipped off, a special team of Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police conducted the drives from Thursday evening and arrested them for providing students with some fake questions for the DU ‘Ka’ unit admission test in exchange for money, said Muntasirul Islam, deputy commissioner (Media) of DMP.
 Of them, 12 were arrested from Tejturi Bazar area of Tejgaon on Thursday night while the 10 from old part of the city on Friday afternoon.  Meanwhile, a mobile court sentenced an admission seeker to two years’ simple imprisonment on charge of cheating in the admission test by using an electronic device.  Hasibul was detained along with the electronic device while sitting for the test at Mohammadpur Govt Model School and College centre.
 Later, he was produced before the mobile court which handed down the punishment, said DU campus sources.
