Stress and insomnia: The modern maladies

Stress and Insomnia are two special situations of human being. These situations are sometimes so acute that those are reflected in human behavior. Personbehavesunnaturally when they are affected by stress and insomnia. Insomnia can make persons very anxious and they do not get any peace and tranquility by anything surrounding them. As this happens, people surrounding them become confused what to do for them. But unnatural behavior makes them separate from other members of the family. Nowadays, many families in Bangladesh are facing this sort of problems in their daily lives. The number of stress and insomnia affected people is increasing day by day and it has become a big challenge to fight stress and insomnia. The efficiency of a person must deteriorate if s/he is affected by stress and insomnia. In the working place the high-ups of the offices always expect highest efficiency from his subordinates. If he notices someone is not discharging his/her duties properly he must take this situation in his consideration and try to mitigate this in a compassionate way and he should think that the person is not a machine rather he is a human being. In this way he can help the stress and insomnia ridden persons. But reality is that people of our country are not that much aware about stress and insomnia.

In family sphere insomniac person sometimes creates problems and disturbing normal routine life of a family. We see many persons either he or she does not go to the sleep timely rather they used to watch television programs in the late night. In this circumstance the other family members of that family, especially the children, are affected by his attitude and activities. Stress and insomnia stricken person always appears to be very much concerned and anxious and feels insecure. And in this way, generally, this insecurity phobia infused to the other members of that family. Sometimes, stress stricken persons’ activities create irritation among the other members of the family. Generally stress affected persons are hypertensive and their behavioral attitude shows their irritations. They become angry and anxious on filthy and trifling matters. Always they draw attention by their hyper sensitive activities and many a times it creates a lot of problems in their families and working places.

It is assumed that insomnia is one of the causes of stress. So the family members of a particular family have great responsibilities to keep them calm and quiet. They should consider the stress ridden persons in a different way. Because the person affected by stress with insomnia has many limitations and many a times s/he cannot control emotion and for that s/he does not behave like a normal person. This is a special situation, everybody has to consider it.

There are many causes of stress and insomnia. Physical condition of a person and at the same time social and family pressures may be the causes stress and insomnia. Different chronic diseases, anxiety appear to be the causes of stress and insomnia. Especially the chronic dysentery, constipations are the major causes of stress and ultimately it leads to insomnia. Persons holding public office and officials holding important positions also suffer from stress and insomnia. The decision making process suffers a lot as they are affected by stress and insomnia. In this situation possibilities of doing error might be increased. As a result of this people might not get the appropriate decisions from them. This is one of the consequences of stress ridden persons. Equally it is also true that being affected by stress and insomnia the efficiency of these persons might be deteriorated. So the other members associated with him in the working place should consider this and behave with him keeping this in their mind. Otherwise, there is every possibility of creating misunderstandings among them. In general cases, people cannot understand whether the person is really affected by stress and insomnia as the symptoms or signs are not clear all the time. But when they talk or do something some abnormality may appear and the people talking to him can notice the abnormality. So for the betterment of the affected person, person known to him should extend their hand for cooperation.

We see stress and insomnia affected persons have highpossibilities of cardiac attack because all of them become hyper all the time. For that reason other members of the family have to give cooperationto the affected person. Otherwise severe incident might happen. All the members of a family should try to maintain peace in the family. Anybody of the family should not do anything which may be the cause of increasing their stress and insomnia. So it is very important to keep peace and tranquility in the family environment for the betterment of the affected person and as well as family and society.

Currently in our society, the number of stress ridden and insomnia stricken persons is increasing day by day. The gradual increasing of cardiovascular or heart disease patient is the proof of that. To fight this situation society has also the great responsibilities. It has become so acute nowadays that no one or society can bypass this problem. Injustice, wrong doing and other anti-social activities make people stress ridden and as a result of this consequences insomnia take place in different strata of people in our society. It is true that stress with insomnia affect those who are always in under pressure. For that reason family and society should look into this with great endurance. Every one of us should be compassionate to the affected people and should not react abnormally for some unnatural activities of stress and insomnia affected person.

Fighting stress and insomnia government should take special project. In this respect stress mitigation center should be launched in all the government medical colleges and district general hospitals. So that affected people can take the treatment and side by sidepracticing Yoga can also be the natural healing process of stress and insomnia. More over special text on stress and insomnia may be included in the secondary and higher secondary levels. For this our future generation who will take the leadership in future can be aware of this problem. At the same time it is also important to maintain quietness and calmness in the family atmosphere. Family support is the best support for the stress and insomnia affected person and it will help to heal their inconvenience and mental anxiety.

With the above discussion in mind we can understand that the stress and insomnia are severe health hazards and in some stages it might harm the family environment as well as society also. Nowadays it appears that stress and insomnia also attack youngsters and in this way the normal calmness and tranquility might be affected.

So now is the time the policy makers and high-ups of the government should address this situation properly so that our society and family environment will be more peaceful and tranquil in future and our country might turn as one of the happiest countries in the world.
