The Kolkata-based Shiraz Restaurant has opened its doors in Dhaka for the food connoisseurs of Bangladesh on Monday. The grand opening took place at Uday Tower in the capital’s Gulshan 1 area. Pankaj Saran, High Commissioner of India in Bangladesh, other distinguished ambassadors, government officials, business leaders and noted personalities of the country graced the event, which ended with the rendition of songs by a noted Indian artist.
A press conference was held at the restaurant premises yesterday, where Seema Haider Chaudhury, Managing Director of Al-Noor Restaurant & Catering Services (owning company of Shiraz Restaurant in Bangladesh), Syed Shahid Ahmed, Adviser and Deepanjan Ghosh, Manager of Shiraz Restaurant, among others, were present.
To note, although the restaurant traces its origin in Kolkata, it steadily grew in size and reputation. It opened branches in Mumbai, Bangalore and Dubai over the years, and now comes to Dhaka for the first time .Some of the Shiraz’s all-time favorite signature dishes are biriyani, chaap, rezala, murgh musallam, raan-e-Shiraz, kasha gosht, liver bhuna, tawa lacha paratha, firni, shahi tukda, etc. The restaurant also has plans to start serving breakfast soon.
