A man was hacked to death by his nephew centering trivial matter at Narinda in Ramganj upazila on Monday night.

The deceased was identified as Anisur Rahman Azad, a resident of the area and a local Juba League activist.

Eyewitness said Mohasin locked into an altercation with Riaz Hossain Titu centering trivial matter and beat him in the evening.

Later, Riaz complained the matter to Mohasin’s uncle Anisur Rahman. When Anisur came to Mohasin to dissolve the matter, they locked into an altercation. At one stage, the agitated Mohasin hacked his uncle with sharp weapon indiscriminately, leaving three of them injured. Later, they rushed to Ramganj Upazila Health Complex where the doctors pronounced Anisur dead, locals added.

Laxmipur Superintendent of Police ASM Mahtab Uddin said Anisur was hacked to death following a family feud and police arrested the accused Mohasin.

A case would be filed in this connection, the SP added.
