Int’l conference held at JU

A two-day international conference titled ‘Governance in the 21st Century in South Asia: Challenges and Ways Forward’ held on the Jahangirnagar University campus. Government and Politics department of the university organised the programme at the seminar room of Zahir Raihan auditorium on Sunday. JU Pro-VC (Academic) Prof Nurul Alam inaugurated the conference as the chief guest around 9.30 am while head of the Government and Politics department Professor Shamsunnahar Khanam was in the chair. Prof Nurul Alam said, “It is very essential of good governance to establish justice in society. The motion of development is accelerated if we can able to ensure good governance in society as well as state”. Treasurer Prof Sheikh Md Monzurul Huq, Dean of Social Science faculty Prof Rasheda Akhtar addressed the function as special guests.
Awareness programme on bone health held

A day-long awareness programme on bone health was held at Shaheed Tajuddin Senate building of Rajshahi University (RU) on Saturday. RU Teachers’ Association (RUTA) in association with New Zealand Dairy organised the programme. RU vice-chancellor Prof M Abdus Sobhan was the chief guest while pro-vice chancellors Prof Ananda Kumar Saha and Prof Chawdhury Zakaria addressed programme as special guests in the programme. President of RUTA Prof Saiful Islam Faroqee presided over the programme while its general secretary delivered vote of thanks. Joint secretary of the organisation associate Prof Sazzad Bakul conducted the programme.
