Dhaka MSC lucky to enter last four

A dramatic finish from Peter in the final minutes steered Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club to move into the semi-final outplaying Kolkata Mohammedan by 2-1 in yesterday’s second match of Sheikh Kamal International Club Cup football tournament at MA Aziz Stadium in Chittagong.
Dhaka Mohammedan now will face the Group A champions Kolkata East Bengal in the second semifinal on October 28.
In the pulsating last match of the group stage, Peter scored two goals for Mohammedan (Dhaka) and Kazeem scored for Kolkata Mohammedan.  Dhaka MSC made the breakthrough on 18th minute through Peter and this time the well-built striker leaped high into the air to head home a Faisal Mahmud corner (1-0).
Kazeem, who squandered an early chance, made it success to draw level on 44th minute when he volleyed it home from a close range (1-1). Dhaka MSC were  lucky enough to get the winning goal with Peter taking the advantage of Kolkata side’s keeper and defenders misunderstanding.
It was great mistake. Peter was sharp to rush into the box to take ball possession after Kolkata goalkeeper was giving a return pass to a near standing  defender.  Peter intercepted the ball and faced no problem just to send the ball into a barren post in the third minute of the six minutes added time (2-1).
