Uplift work in Rangpur City Corporation inaugurated

RANGPUR: Mayor of Rangpur City Corporation (RCC) Alhaj Sarfuddin Ahmed Jhantu yesterday launched carpeting works of six kilometre long Domdoma-Mahiganj road under Ward No-32 in the city, reports BSS.
The city mayor inaugurated the road carpeting works being constructed with Taka 5.5-crore under the City Governance Project (CGP) with funding from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) ceremonially as the chief guest. Under the JICA-funded Taka 96 crore project, RCC has been implementing construction works of roads, drainage and sewerage systems, culverts and
infrastructures at different areas under different packages in all 33 wards of the city. Panel Mayor and City Councilor Alhaj Abul Kashem for Ward No-32 presided over the function at Domdoma Bridge point in the city.
Woman City Councilor Nazmun Nahar Nazma, Executive Engineer of RCC Azam Ali and Vice-president of Rangpur District Shop Owners' Association Ali Hossain Mollah, among others, were present.
After inaugurating the road carpeting works Jhantu said the infrastructural
development works are being implemented for building an eco-friendly,
well- planned, most modern, traffic-jam free and beautiful city.
The common people would be benefited and the overall traffic-jam situation improved significantly after completion of the massive infrastructural development works ensuring the best quality in the city corporation, he said. He said Rangpur will become a clean city and one of the most beautiful cities in the region with excellent and modern communication networks, drainage systems, congenial environment and eye-catching looks.
