RU approves Tk 424.15cr budget for 2019-20 FY

Rajshahi University (RU) has approved its annual budget worth Tk 424.15 crore for the 2019-2020 fiscal year based on the allocation given by University Grant Commission (UGC). The approval came in the 491st syndicate meeting of RU held on Sunday night with Vice-chancellor Prof Abdus Sobhan in the chair. Director of RU Finance and Accounts department Afsar Ali said the UGC allocated Tk 424.15 crore for RU against proposed budget od Tk 633.51 crore which was placed by the university last month. There was a revised budget. In 2018-19 fiscal, UGC allocated Tk 423.35 crore against demanded of Tk 557.52 crore.  Later on, a revised budget of Tk 431.04 crore was passed for that fiscal year in the syndicate meeting.

IU unveils academic calendar

The authorities of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia has unveiled its academic calendar under 2019-20 academic years recently, said a university press release. IU Vice-Chancellor Prof M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari unveiled the calendar at his VC office. IU pro-vice chancellor Prof M Shahinoor Rahman, its treasurer Prof M Selim Toha, acting registrar SM Abdul Latif, convener of calendar printing committee and press administrator Prof M Habibur Rahman, Prof M Zakaria Rahman were present.
