To remember 45 prominent poets, litterateurs and artistes of the country, a month-long commemorative event titled ‘Smriti Swatta Bhabisshat’ is being held on the premises of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) in the capital.
BSA, in association with Ministry of Cultural Affairs, has organised the month-long programme paying tribute to the veterans.
As a part of the event, eminent Bengali musicians Radharaman Dutta, Gurusaday Dutt, poet Bijoy Sarkar and Ramesh Sheel will be remembered today at 6pm at the National Music and Dance Centre Auditorium of BSA.
On the other hand, remembering eminent novelist and writer Shahidullah Kaiser and Alamgir Kabir, another programme will be held at the Studio Theatre Hall of BSA.
Presided over by Dr Afsar Ahmed, Mahbubul Haque and Ratan Siddique will deliver speeches on Shahidullah Kaiser, while Hosne Ara Begum Jolly will read an essay.
Presided over by Mohammad Jahangir Hossain, Junaid Ahmed Halim and Shamim Akther will deliver speeches on Alamgir Kabir and Sabrina Sultana Chowdhury will read out an essay.
As a part of the commemorative event ‘Smriti Swatta Bhabisshat’, Alamgir Kabir-directed full-length feature film titled ‘Simana Periye’ will be screened today at 6:30pm at the International Digital Cultural Archive of BSA. l
