Workshop on awareness for Pediatric Palliative Care held at Bhairab

ASHIC Pediatric Mobile Palliative Care Clinic (PPCC) of ASHIC, Foundation for Childhood Cancer in collaboration with NVIDIA Foundation USA has organized its first workshop on awareness for Pediatric Palliative Care (Childhood Cancer) on Tuesday, 25th June 2019 at Bhairab Upazilla Health Complex, Bhairab Kishoreganj, Bangladesh.

Dr. Bulbul Ahmmad, UHFPO, Bhairab Upazilla Health Complex, Bhairab, Kishoreganj. was the Chief Guest of the program Mrs. Salma Choudhury, Founder Chairperson of ASHIC, Chaired the program and Dr. Momena Begum, Specialist Pediatrician of (BSMMU) Hospital facilitated the workshop.

The objectives of the Mobile PPCC are:

1. Creating Awareness on Pediatric Palliative Care in the rural areas.

2. Providing workshop on Palliative Care in the rural areas.

3. Sending back the dead bodies, registered in ASHIC to their village home.

4. Transport patients to the Cancer Treating Hospitals in Dhaka from ASHIC Palliative Care Unit (PCU).

    

In line with the above objectives, ASHIC endeavors to arrange workshops at District and Upazilla Levels of Bangladesh in order to spread awareness to the community and to reach out to the unprivileged  Cancer Children and their families living in remote areas.

The workshop has been highly praised by the local healthcare specialist team and local community leaders since the program has highlighted the compassionate part of healthcare that is Palliative Care for the unprivileged Cancer Children of Bangladesh.

Mrs. Salma Choudhury, the Founder Chairperson of ASHIC, expressed her deep gratitude to the UHFPO Dr. Bulbul Ahmmed and the communities of Bhairab Upazilla for the assistance and cooperation they offered to ASHIC team.
