A high-level delegation from Bangladesh will visit Malta at the end of July to sign two agreements on mutual cooperation in maritime affairs. The visit, scheduled from 21 July to 23 July, would be a step forward to boost the ties between Bangladesh and Malta for sharing ideas and experiences at various levels, including tapping of marine resources, according to foreign ministry sources. One of the agreements will deal with the marine academies of the two countries, while the other will be regarding foreign ministry consultation.
The sources say that both the commonwealth countries want to strengthen their ties on common issues in future. Malta has vast experience in marine resources which can be of great help for Bangladesh in tapping such resources in the Bay of Bengal, they add.
The two countries will be benefited from the cooperation between their governments and business communities. Around 1,000 Bangladeshi expatriates are now working in Malta and helping the economy of Bangladesh.
