Today is the birthday of Jaya Ahsan, an immensely popular actress in the film industries of both Bangladesh and Kolkata. Alongside winning multiple National Film Awards in the country, Jaya is the only artiste from Bangladesh who won the prestigious ‘Filmfare Award’ in India.

Jaya, however, is not at home on her birthday today as she is currently taking part in the shooting of her yet another new Indian Bengali film titled ‘Bini Sutoy’ in Kolkata. Indian filmmaker Atanu Ghosh is directing the film, where Jaya not only acting in a role, but also sang a song for the film.

Jaya said about her birthday, “I couldn’t stay at home on my birthday this time too.  But I will really miss everyone on the birthday. I seek blessing from everyone that may Allah keep me in good health and well. So that, I would be able to gift my fans and viewers with wonderful films based on beautiful stories. Because of their love, I am Jaya Ahsan today.”

The actress won her first National Film Award for her role in Nasiruddin Yousuff Bachchu-directed ‘Guerrilla’ in 2011. Later, the actress was recognised with the same prestigious award for her appearance in Redoan Rony-director ‘Chorabali’ and Animesh Aich-directed ‘Zero Degree’.

Meanwhile, Jaya has recently started working in a new local film titled ‘Alat Chakra’ directed by Habibur Rahman. The film is being made based on the novel with the same title by late eminent writer-thinker-novelist-poet Ahmed Sofa. The film has received a government grant in the fiscal year 2017-18, where the actress is playing the role of Tayeba.

Besides, Jaya-starrer latest film ‘Kontho’ has been running successfully since last seven weeks in different cinemas in Kolkata.
