Afghanistan ‘A’ Team is scheduled to arrive in Dhaka to play a bilateral series against their Bangladesh counterparts at 8:40pm today.

The visiting side will play two four-day matches along with five-match one-day series during their month-long tour in Bangladesh.

All the matches of the tour will be held at three different host venues across the country. The Afghan side will open their Bangladesh mission with four-day match and end with one-day affair. Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium (SANS) in Khulna will host the tour opener, stating on July 5-8.

Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium (ZACS) in Chattogram will feature the second and last four-day match coupled with the initial three one-day matches of the five-match ODI series. The last four-day match will begin on July 12-15. And the first three one-day matches will kick off July 19, 21 and 24 respectively.

The last two one-day matches will be played at the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan (BKSP) in Savar on July 27 and 29 correspondingly.  The second string Afghan team will leave Dhaka for Khulna, the venue of the first match on July 2 at 12:00pm.

However, Bangladesh ‘A’ Team will travel to Khulna at 10:30am today. The home side held their last training session at the national academy of the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) yesterday. Head coach Sohel Islam supervised them in Mirpur.

The second string team of the local side has been formed with the blend of the High Performance (HP) and dropped-out of the national team players. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is yet to announce the squad and its captain before filling the report.

It’s mentionable that the team BCB was preparing for the home series against the second string Afghan side most of whom are being sent to Karnataka to play the upcoming edition of the Dr. (Capt.) K. Thimmappiah Memorial Tournament. And so, the board has to pick some players from the HP squad.
