Favourites Dhaka Abahani Limited will lock horn with the hosts Chittagong Abahani in the Sheikh Kamal International Club Cup football tournament today at the MA Aziz Stadium in the Port City.
Dhaka Abahani are in better position after winning their first match against Karachi Electric FC and if they could win today’s match then their semifinal place will be confirmed. But the hosts Chittagong Abahani are in trouble after suffering a 1-2 defeat to Kolkata East Bengal in their first match. The local side have no option but to topple their formidable opponents today n their bid to stay in the race.
Ctg Abahani coach Manik did not hesitate to tell that  they would make exit if they fail  to win today’s match.
On the other hand, Amolesh Sen, coach of Dhaka Abahani, who was happy with the performance of the team in the first match but was a bit disappointed with boys’ chaotic posture in the last few minutes. “To reach the goal we have to get rid of that attitude,” said Amolesh. He has also a headache as left back Waly Faisal, who scored a spectacular goal in the last match, is injured.
Manik, who was pensive about the players’ fitness, while talking to the reporters during practice yesterday, said, “I told you before the commencement of the tournament that we started  our mission without full fitness of the players. But still we have to remain positive and have to play with all out attacking approach against our experienced opponents.”
Meanwhile, Kolkata East Bengal Club, who are in a good position with obtaining full three points after defeating the hosts Chittagong Abahani by 2-1 in their opening match will face Karachi Electric FC in the other match today.
