Azizul Huq has been elected chairman of the board of directors of Pubali Bank Ltd, the bank said in press statement yesterday.  

He was elected at the 1200th board meeting of the bank held in the capital recently.

Prior to achieving this position, Huq was probationary officer at Habib Bank Ltd, Pakistan, and then he became CEO of Islami Bank BD Ltd, Social Investment Bank Ltd, and Islamic Finance and Investment Ltd, the statement added.

He obtained MA degree in Economics from Dhaka University.

He was independent director and vice-chairman of Islami Bank BD Ltd.
