‘Anil Bagchir Ekdin’—a film based on a novel by late celebrated writer Humayun Ahmed, has been invited to two international film festivals. The film will participate in the competition category of the ‘Colombo International Film Festival’ (November 6-11) in Sri Lanka, and will be screened at the ‘World Film Festival of Bangkok’, which will be held from November 13- 22. Centring the story of the Liberation War of Bangladesh, directed by noted film director Morshedul Islam, the film has been produced under the banner of Bengal Creations. The film was shot in Dhaka and other different locations of the country. Aref Syed played the role of Anil Bagchi, while Jyotika Jyoti shared the screen as Anil’s sister in the film. Other important casts of the film include Gazi Rakayet, Farhana Mithu, Shahidul Alam Sachchu, A.M. Mohsin, Khalilur Rahman Quaderi and Misha Shawdagar, among others. Popular musician Sani Jubayer has directed the music of the film. After receiving the green signal from the film censor board in July, the technical show of the film ‘Anil Bagchir Ekdin’ was screened on August 28 and scheduled to be released in coming December. To note, ‘Anil Bagchir Ekdin’ will be the first film that is going to be released after the death of Humayun Ahmed based on any of his novels.
