Italian Ambassador to Bangladesh Mario Palma yesterday said his country didn’t issue any travel advisory to its nationals for Bangladesh rather Rome still advises its citizens to visit Dhaka even after the killing of Italian nationals Cesare Tavella, reports BSS. “We didn’t issue any travel advisory for our nationals rather we advised our citizens to visit Bangladesh,” an official handout said quoting Italian envoy as he (Palma) called on Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon at secretariat. Terming the Tavella murder as unfortunate, the Italian Ambassador said, “We want to see the ongoing investigation regarding the killing will be completed effectively”. The Italian Ambassador was accompanied by French Ambassador in Dhaka Sophie Auber. Regarding killing of foreign nationals here, the French envoy said they are waiting for completion of the ongoing investigation to see the real fact behind these murders. Menon said unveiling of the mystery behind killing of the two foreign nationals is now a matter of time. He said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has taken firm steps to check all sorts of terrorism and militancy in the country. “Bangladesh believes in zero tolerance policy against terrorism,” he said. Assuring the envoys about current peaceful situation of the country, the minister said Bangladesh is a secular and liberal democratic county. “Here there is no place for militancy, extremism and fundamentalism,” he said.
