A major reshuffle in the police force was carried out by transferring six senior police officers yesterday. Of them, Additional Inspector General of Police Mohammad Shafiqul Islam has been appointed as chief of Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and Deputy Inspector General of Police Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun has been transferred as additional inspector general police (current in-charge) while
Deputy Inspector General of Police headquarters Barrister Mahbubur Rahman has been posted as additional inspector general police (current in-charge) of highway police.
Meanwhile, Deputy Inspector General of Riverine police Mohammad Maruf Hasan has been transferred as additional inspector general of police (current in-charge) of Police Staff College in Dhaka.
On the other hand, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Special Branch (SB) Tawfiq Mahbub Chowdhury was made DIG of police headquarters and DIG of police Headquarters Habibur Rahman has been transferred as DIG of Dhaka Range.
The public security division of the Home ministry issued a gazette notification yesterday in this regard.
