Three mobile courts will conduct drives against food adulteration in the capital every day during the upcoming holy month of Ramadan, said Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun yesterday. The Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) and the district administration will jointly conduct the mobile court drives, he said while addressing a press conference arranged at his ministry on the steps taken to ensure quality of essentials during Ramadan.
Besides, two mobile courts will conduct drives in nearby upazilas and districts of Dhaka city every day during the holy month, the minister said.
There will be 10 mobile court drives through BSTI regional or divisional or district offices every day in other parts of the country, he said.
Noting that BSTI conducts drive against the food adulteration, he said its drive will be strengthened in Ramadan to check production and sale of adulterated and substandard food and beverages.
