IU holds farewell programme

Arabic Language and Literature department organised a farewell and scholarship giving ceremony of 24th batch under the MSS academic 2016-17 session was held at hall room of Faculty Building of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia on Sunday around 11:30am.

Prof Dr Mostaq M A Munawaar Ali presided over the programme with Prof Dr Nesar Uddin Ahmad, dean of Arts Faculty spoke at the programme as chief guest while Prof Dr Mahfuzur Rahman and Prof Dr M Tozammel Hossain were present as the special guest.

A total of thirty student of second year, third year and the outgoing students of the department got scholarship from ABM Moklesur Rahman trust of the department. Besides, the department gave prize for journalism, sports, BNCC activities, cultural activities and organisational activities to the outgoing students.

RUPSA starts its journey at RU

The Rajshshi University Philosophy Students Alliance (RUPSA), a career related voluntary organisation of Philosophy department, started its journey on Monday evening at Rajshshi University (RU) campus. RU pro vice chancellor Professor Dr Chawdhury Md Zakaria launched the organisation at a freshers reception programme at Kazi Nazrul Islam auditorium.

Besides, university proctor Professor Dr Luthfor Rahman and chairman  philosophy department Professor Dr Asaduzzaman, among others, addressed the programme special guests.

The internal activities of the club will include weekly meetings and arrangement of different competitions and workshops for skill development of its members. All the members are grouped according to their career objectives, like BCS, MNC, bank job, etc.

The mission of the organisation is to create career consciousness among the students and introduce its members with the different skills requirements expected in a modern economy. The vision of the RUPSA is to produce highly ethical and professional people. However, university pro vice chancellor initiated them for establishing such organization on the campus.

IU observes National Legal Aid Day

Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia observed National Legal Aid Day on Sunday through various programmes. The Law and Land Management department was organised the procession led by Lecturer Mehedi Hasan and Bonani Afrin and hundred students attended the programme. The colorful procession was brought out in front of Mir Mosharraf Hossain building and after parading main streets ended at the same place.
