A human chain was formed in Jashore yesterday demanding exemplary punishment for the criminals who set Nusrat Jahan Rafi, a madrasa student of Feni district on fire, for refusing to withdraw a case she filed against the madrasa's principal who had allegedly sexually harassed her.
Socheton Nagorik Committee (Sonak) arranged the programme in front of the Jashore Press Club in the morning. During the human chain, speakers said such crimes like murder and rape are increasing day by day. Criminals must be punished, they said.

Prize giving ceremony held

A prize giving ceremony of art competition organised on the occasion of National Nutrition Week-2019 was held in Debiganj upazila of Panchagarh on Monday.
Upazila health complex arranged the drawing competition on nutritious food among the students of primary schools of the district.  
About 50 students from different primary schools and five women from different government organisations took part in the competition.  
Upazila Vice Chairman Babul Hossein Sarker was present at the function as the chief guest.
