Shakib Al Hasan was informed from Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) after his arrival in Dhaka from India that there is a photo-session of the World Cup bound Bangladesh team at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.
But Shakib left the BCB office after finishing his official works without opening the letter what was sent to him by the board as Nazmul Hassan Papon informed about his absence at the official photo session on Monday.
“I can say only what I told you all yesterday (Monday). When I entered BCB I then phoned him because I saw in newspaper morning that he returned Bangladesh,” said Namul Hassan Papon.
“Normally when he returns home from aboard he communicates me. But this time he did not do it. Yes, I’m in Dhaka. I come back from India. When I told him to meet him, he told he just come out of the BCB. That’s all,” Papon told media at a press conference at the Beximco Pharma office yesterday.
“He told me he will come to my house night. It’s right he came. Coming to my home, he told me its right that he got the message but he did not read it. So, I would not know that there is a photo-session at stadium,” he added.
Bangladesh iconic all-rounder who was not present at the last day practice session even attend at the official photo-session and jersey unveiling ceremony that rocked the country prior to the national team’s departure for the ensuing tri-nation series in Ireland and ICC Cricket World Cup.
The BCB president has described Shakib’s absence as unfortunate. He is reluctant to make any further comment on his possible punishment.
“There is no question of stomaching such obduracy. The team is going to leave the country the day after tomorrow. So, I don’t want to talk about the topic right now,” Nazmul Hassan said.
Even if Nazmul was asked by media to give him any punishment for his obduracy but he didn’t clearly tell anything regarding it.
However, Shakib’s wife Umme Ahmed Shishir became angry to see the news on Shakib’s such behaviour in televisions and newspapers. She gave a status in her verified facebook page, where he heavily attacked journalists.
When asked about Shishir’s facebook status, the BCB president said, “I heard it first time. I don’t use facebook. I told you all Shakib, who is still in the country. He did not leave the country. As I heard, you can sure I will tell him so that he refrain from such activities.”
