Bangladesh young fast-bowler Mohammad Saifuddin said he is preparing in such a way to address the challenge that lies in World Cup so that it can’t subdue him from his role and duties for the team. Scraping his home going, he will take a complete rest in two days to recover him from wearies he has after his DPL stint what Saifuddin said will help him start Ireland series and World Cup afresh.
He also said his actual target in both tri-nation series and World Cup is to contribute his utmost best for the team’s success. “I’ve marked the recent matches which are held in England. I saw the series between India and England before that. It seems to me all the wickets are batting-friendly. So, we’ve to bowl maintaining very tight line-length,” said Mohammad Saifuddin.
“Bowling will not be so easier whatever it’s told wickets will be pace-friendly. Moreover, we know wickets remain batting-friendly in ICC’s events,” Saifuddin told media at the National Academy of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) in Mirpur yesterday.
“It’s somewhat challenging but I want to take that challenge. I want to be prepared in that way in the remaining period of time I have in hand,” he added. Inspired by performance in Dhaka Premier League (DPL), Saifuddin said that will give him a big boost mentally and physically to fare well in the mega event.
“The performance in Dhaka Premier League (DPL) will give impetus to me in World Cup. But I want to improve it further day by day. There is nothing alternative. I’m trying to do it from my place as much as possible,” the 23-year-old pacer said.
“Always I try to hone my skills also. I share my plan with the senior. Alhamdulillah, my DPL has gone well. If I get chance, I’ll capitalize this experience in World Cup. That’s my real target which will be remained same in World Cup,” he continued.
“DPL has finished just now. So, there is still somewhat weariness inside me. I’m now trying to recover this fatigue as much as possible. We’ve Ireland series ahead where I’ll try to recover myself from it as possible,” the right-handed pacer said.
“I didn’t go home so that I can be fully prepared for the next important tournaments. If I would go home, it used to take more time. So, staying here for the next two-three days, I’ll try to recover my fatigue. And I’m preparing myself for the World Cup in this way,” he added.
“As I’ll bat at lower down the order, I’ll have opportunity to do match-winning performance. Of course, I’ve personal target. At the end of the day, I’ll match myself how much I succeed to fill my target. As cricket is a team game, I’ll, of course, try to play for the team. I’ll do everything to triumph the team.
“Overall if I think, our team might not be the team likes of England and India. But we have some more experienced players, five of whom have experience of playing 200 more one-day internationals. From that point of view, I think, our team is ahead more than the other teams. Soumya bhai among the young players has experience to play last World Cup. Overall, our team is balanced. If we can all perform from our respective place, we keep every capability to beat any team.
The entire team will practice together on April 28-29. Taking a day rest, Bangladesh will fly to Ireland for the tri-angular series on May 1.
