People urged for wellbeing of blind

With a call for call the wellbeing of blind people of the society White Cane Safety Day was observed across the country yesterday. Our Thakurgaon Correspondent says:  District administration and district Samaj Seba office jointly organised several programmes to mark the day. A procession was brought out from deputy commissioner’s office, led by DC Mukesh Chandra Biswas, yesterday morning. The procession paraded the main streets of the district town. Later, a discussion was held were the DC attended as chief guest, while deputy director of Thakurgaon district Samaj Seba office Rafikul Islam presided. The speakers urged all to help the persons with sighting problem in every work. They urged the government to make the blind people as wealth of the country by making them self-sufficient through trainings. Our Bogra correspondent reports: Different government and non-government organisations chalked out several programmes in the district town to mark the day.
District unit Andha Sangstha and Rotary Club jointly brought out a colourful procession in the town. A discussion followed the programme with Khorshed Alam, deputy commissioner (acting), as the chief guest. In Chuadanga: District administration took different programmes, including bringing out of procession and discussion in this connection. Officials of the district administration and district social service department carrying banners and placards paraded the main roads of the town. Later, a meeting was held at the conference room of the deputy commissioner. Deputy Commissioner Saima Yunus called upon all to come forward for the wellbeing of blind people of the society.
