‘Ghuddi’ a 1980 Bangladeshi romantic drama film directed by Syed Salahuddin Zaki will be screened today at 6:30pm at the National Art Gallery auditorium of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) in Segun Bagicha of the capital. The film is being screened as a part of the four-day National Film Day celebration organised by BSA.
The movie revolves around the protagonist Asad, a freedom fighter who still struggles to get out of the trauma of war. He meets Ghuddi at a film theatre and later falls in love.Subarna Mustafa has played the main role in film with Raisul Islam Asad, Nasir Uddin Yusuf, Tariq Anam Khan, Nayla Azad Nupur, Syed Hasan Imam supporting role.
Besides, short and documentary films ‘Je Golper Sesh Nei’ directed by Fowzia Khan, ‘Kobi Swamir Mrityur Por Amar Jobanbondi’ (The Statement After My Poet Husband’s Death) by Tasmiah Afrin Mou, ‘Matir Pakhi’ by Mamun Srabon, ‘Etibritto Kingba Bastobotar Pororambor’ by Mahmud Hasan, ‘The Mechanic’ by Atanu Patwary and ‘Poth’ by Abid Mallick will also be screened at 4pm.
The four-day programme to celebrate the National Film Day features film carnivals, seminars, film exhibitions, discussions, meet-ups and cultural programs. The event will come to an end today.
