Fahad pens deal with Mahindra Comviva

Mahindra Comviva became the sponsor of Bangladesh’s youngest FIDE Master Fahad Rahman. Mahindra Comviva, the global leaders in providing mobility solutions, signed a sponsorship agreement with Fahad Rahman, at a function held at a local hotel in the capital yesterday. Mahindra Comviva decided to provide support to Fahad Rahman in his quest to become the youngest Grandmaster of Bangladesh. Niaz Murshed, the first Grandmaster (GM) of South Asia, will act as the mentor of Fahad, the most promising chess player of the country. This alliance is aimed at promoting chess in Bangladesh.
The company will not only provide a monthly stipend to the child prodigy, FIDE master Fahad, but also bear all his expenses for participating at upcoming international chess tournaments, for a period of one year.  Mahindra Comviva will also provide support to Niaz Murshed, Bangladesh’s first chess icon, to train Fahad on all the theoretical aspects, as well as the tips and tricks of chess, needed to fast-track his rise to the earn the required IM norms before becoming the next Grandmaster of the country.
State Minister for Youth and Sports Biren Sikder, who attended the function as chief guest, said, “We already have five international chess Grandmasters in the country. If we can provide proper support and training to child prodigies like Fahad, Bangladesh will be able to produce more international Grandmasters.” Reyad Hasnain, Bangladesh country manager for Mahindra Comviva said, “We are very excited to extend our support to young talent like Fahad Rahman.”
