22 medicine shops fined in capital

A mobile court of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) fined owners of 22 pharmacies Tk 12 lakh at Aziz Cooperative Market in the capital on Wednesday for keeping date-expired, unapproved and contraband medicines, reports BSS. Led by RAB Headquarters Executive Magistrate M Sarwar Alam, the mobile court also seized a huge quantity of medicines during the drive. The medicines include Betnovate-C, Betnovate-N, Tryptrirol, Mucinac, Argipress, Hydra, Adrenol, Periactin and Duron, said a press release.
Staff reporter adds from Chittagong: A mobile court fined owners of six drugstores Tk 40,000 in Chawk Bazar area of the city on Wednesday for selling sex-stimulating medicine, government medicines, food supplements and physician samples illegally. Chittagong District Administration Executive Magistrate Ruhul Amin conducted the mobile court and seized different types of illegally sold medicines worth Tk 1, 10, 000.   The mobile court fined owners of Babul Medico Tk 10,000, RR Medico Tk 10,000, Messers N Medicine Tk 5,000, Shah Majidia Tk 5,000, Royal Drug House Tk 5,000 and Bayezid Medical Hall Tk 5,000.
