Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has sketched out their tour plan for the Bangladesh ‘A’ Team beside their senior teams (Bangladesh national team, High Performance (HP) Unit) and their junior teams (Bangladesh under-19 cricket team and Bangladesh under-16 cricket team.

Bangladesh ‘A’ Team was scheduled to play a bilateral series along with a reciprocal series this year. Of them, West Indies ‘A’ team is scheduled to come here in Bangladesh to play a bilateral series in coming June. But the second string team of the Caribbean side will not come here to play the series in June. In this regard, BCB CEO Nizamuddin Chowdhury Shujan told The Independent that the ‘A’ team of the West Indies will not come due to their financial crisis.

“West Indies ‘A’ Team is slated to visit in Bangladesh in June. But they informed us that they will not come to play the ‘A’ team series in June because of their financial crisis,” Nizamuddin Chowdhury Shujan said.

“We have a reciprocal series of ‘A’ team with Sri Lanka, who already played against us. Now we’ll go in Sri Lanka very soon,” Shujan told this reporter over mobile phone.

Sabbir Khan Shafin, national manager of the BCB Cricket Operation, said in this regard that Bangladesh ‘A’ team will travel to Sri Lanka in September to play the reciprocal series.

“Our High Performance Team will tour in Sri Lanka in July or August. Then Bangladesh ‘A’ team will also travel to Sri Lanka in September to play the reciprocal series,” Sabbir Khan Shafin said.
