Imtiaz Ahmed Bijon’s film ‘Matir Projar Deshe’ (Kingdom of Clay Subjects) will be screened today at Goethe-Institut in the capital’s Dhanmondi area.  

Popular actors Jayanta Chattopadhyay, Rokeya Prachi, Mahmudur Aninda, Sheuli Aktar, Monir Ahmed Shakil and Chinmoyi Gupta acted in the film.

Produced by Goopy Bagha Productions, ‘Matir Projar Deshe’ is set in rural Bangladesh. In the film, the society is shown from the point of view of 10-year-old Jamal, who is struggling to understand the ways that caste and gender affect the strong women in his life.

The film will be screened at 5pm with English subtitle, followed by a Q&A discussion session.

Back from Berlin with some fresh and exciting experiences of participating at this year’s Berlinale co-production market, along with the Producer Arifur Rahman, Bijon will share his unique experiences there with the local filmmakers, enthusiast through this event.
