Vow to make better Bangladesh

People of different districts celebrated the Independence and National Day- 2019 yesterday with a fresh vow to build prosperous Bangladesh.

In Jamalpur, district administration, freedom fighters, political parties, educational institutes and various cultural and social organisations chalked out special programmes to mark the day.

The day’s programme began with 31 gun salutes at the Muktijoddha Sangsad premises in the town at one minute past of 12 mid-night. National Flags were hoisted atop all government, semi-government, autonomous, non-government and private buildings.

Government officials and general people paid rich tributes to the Liberation War martyrs by placing wreaths at the memorial in the town. At first, local lawmaker Engineer Mozaffar Hossain, MP, placed floral wreath at the memorial.

Later, District Police Administration, Zila Parishad, freedom fighters, Jamalpur Press Club, political parties, Civil Surgeon Office, district Chamber of Commerce and Industries, educational institutes, Power Development Board, various workers associations and social and cultural organisations paid their tributes.

A march past was held at Jamalpur Zila School ground this morning.

Besides, District administration also honoured the freedom fighters in the district. Special prayers are being offered at mosques and temples and special foods were distributed to the inmates of orphanages, jail and hospitals. Different games and sports were also held at the stadium to mark the day.

In Tangail, the day was celebrated with much enthusiasm and a fresh vow to uphold the spirit of the Liberation War. The day begins with 31 gun salutes in the morning at Tangail Poura Park.

Political parties, educational institutions, social and cultural organisations chalked out elaborate programmes to mark the day. Programmes included placing of floral wreaths at the Shaheed Minar,  hoisting of national flags with national anthem, sports, discussion meeting, blood donation, special prayer, serving improved diet among the inmates of jail, hospital, orphanage.

In Rajbari, the day was celebrated with a fresh vow to root out terrorism and militancy.

District administration, various cultural organizations, political parties, educational institutions chalked out many programmes to mark the day.

An impressive march past by police Ansar, VDP, and different organisations were held at local Kazi Hedayet Hossain Stadium. It was attended among others by Kazi Keramot Ali MP of Rajbari-1, Deputy Commissioner Md Shawkot Ali, Police Super Asma Siddiqa Mili PPM, BPM, Zila Parishad Chairman Fakir Abdul Jabbar, Rajbari Pourashabha Mayor Mohammad Ali Chawdhury, Civil Surgeon of Rajbari Dr Md Rahim Baksh, Rajbari LGED Executive Engineer Khan A Shamim, Rajbari Roads And Highways Executive engineer KDM Saddam Hossain.

In Meherpur, people celebrated the country’s 49th Independence and National Day in a befitting manner yesterday.

They paid tribute to the freedom fighters through various programmes with a renewed pledge to take Bangladesh towards development and ensure peace and prosperity.

The day was heralded with 31 gun salutes at Dr Shaheed Samsuzzoha Park in the town. National flag was hoisted atop all public and private buildings. Political parties and socio-cultural organisations placed floral wreaths at the monument in the town.

In Chuadanga, the day was observed in a befitting manner. Programmes arranged to mark the day included hoisting of the national flag, march past, discussion meetings, rallies, a special prayer, cultural functions, supplying improved diet to the inmates of jail and hospitals.

Government offices and private buildings were illuminated on the occasion.

A march past was arranged at Chuadanga stadium at 8am under the auspices of District Administration. Students of schools and colleges, members of police, ansar, VDP, scouts and socio-organisations took part in the march past.  Gopal Chandra Das, DC and Mahbubur Rahman, SP took the salute from the participants of the march past.
